Artech Camps Terms and Conditions – updated November 2019 for Halifax Camps

Expected Behavior: Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of fellow participants, staff and all other people at our host location.

Personal Effects: Artech Camps does not assume responsibility for the loss or damage of participant’s personal belongings. Participants are urged not to bring expensive or valuable personal items to class (e.g. digital cameras, mp3 players, etc.)

Injury: Artech and its staff, while endeavoring to exercise reasonable care and supervision of participants, assume no responsibility for any accidents, resulting injuries or damages suffered by the participant.

Promotional Images & Videos: Artech Camps reserve the right to use any photograph, audio segment or video in which the participant may be a part of, in whole or in part, for promotional purposes. Artech Camps reserve the right to submit works created during our programs for broadcast on CBC TV or other promotional ventures. Full credit is given to creator where applicable.

Equipment & Property: For the duration of the camp or program, participants will have the contracted use of a computer and sometimes other equipment, e.g. cameras and robotic parts. Equipment may not be taken home. We enforce a no food or drink policy around all equipment! Equipment must be in the same condition at the end of the session as at the start of the session. Parents/guardians will be held responsible for the costs of any damage to equipment or property their child may cause.

“Camp” Cancellation and Refunds: A full refund less administrative costs of $50 (per camp registration) is refunded if cancellation notice is given by February 28th for March Break camps and by June 1st for summer camps. No refunds are given after that. However, up two weeks prior to the start date of the registered camp week, participant can opt to attend a different camp (of the same value, or pay the difference if more costly) on a different week in the same season, if space is available. There is no fee charged for this.

Unforeseen events: In the event that a “camp day” or “class” is cancelled for any reason e.g. closure of facility due to adverse weather or power failure, unavailability of an instructor, the class or camp day will be rescheduled or a credit will be issued for a future program (at the discretion of the camp director.

Insufficient Enrollment: Artech Camps reserves the right to cancel any course or program if there is insufficient enrollment. Full monetary refund is given in the event of such a cancellation.
